Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Retail Department Supervisor to join our team at TJ Maxx. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example, demonstrating exceptional customer service and promoting a positive internal and external customer experience
  • Promote a culture of honesty and integrity, maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest standards of professionalism
  • Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor and ensuring efficient flow of goods to sales floor
  • Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to succeed
  • Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, maintaining a high level of visual merchandising standards
  • Communicate effectively with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure seamless execution of store operations
  • Monitor productivity of team and coach as necessary, ensuring Associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan
  • Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment, maintaining a clean and organized store environment
  • Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards, ensuring a cohesive and engaging shopping experience
  • Ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs, promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility
  • Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates, providing progress updates and addressing priorities
  • Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback, fostering a culture of growth and development
  • Partner with Management on Associate training needs, increasing effectiveness and efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment
  • Promote credit and loyalty programs, driving sales and customer engagement
  • Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs, minimizing losses and maximizing profitability
  • Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment, ensuring the well-being of Associates and customers
Requirements
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Capable of multi-tasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations
  • Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Able to train others and provide guidance and support
  • 1 year retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience

This position has a starting pay range of $13.00 to $13.50 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
