Job Description

The Charter High School for Law and Social Justice is seeking a highly qualified Science Teacher to join our team. As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a comprehensive and engaging learning environment for our students. You will develop and implement lesson plans that align with our school's curriculum and standards, and provide individualized support to students to ensure their academic success.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of all students, including those with diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and promote learning, including hands-on activities, group work, and technology integration.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in education and to improve teaching skills.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Science or Education.
  • NYS Certification in Science.
  • At least two years of prior teaching experience.
  • Masters in Secondary Education or related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
