Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Mass., Inc. as a Healthcare Inspector. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a healthcare setting and a strong understanding of regulations and policies that apply to healthcare facilities in Massachusetts.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections of healthcare facilities in the Metro Boston area and Northeast Regions of the Commonwealth. The candidate will need to have access to reliable transportation and be able to travel extensively statewide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and survey healthcare facilities for regulatory compliance and to determine compliance with rules and regulations for certification and licensure.
  • Investigate complaints received by the agency relating to patient care and patient rights, and document findings gathered during inspections.
  • Draft reports on facilities and services relative to compliance with federal requirements and state regulations.
  • Evaluate plans of correction submitted from healthcare facilities and conduct follow-up visits to determine ongoing compliance regulations for certification and licensure.
  • Organize and assist in Department orientations, in-service training programs, and provider training/workshops.
Requirements:
  • Actively licensed Massachusetts registered nurse with 3 years of professional experience working as a registered nurse in a healthcare facility.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of nursing and healthcare administration.
  • Ability to understand, apply and explain the laws, rules, regulations concerning healthcare facility licensure and certification.
  • Capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, including agency officials, staff associates, other employees, providers, vendors, and healthcare administrators.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the factors, trends, and problems in providing healthcare services to client groups such as the elderly, children, and mentally, physically, and/or emotionally disabled.
  • At least 5 years' experience in the nursing profession, in addition to basic investigative skills.
  • General knowledge of state and federal regulations related to skilled nursing facilities and other healthcare facilities.
  • Skilled in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and decision-making to achieve objectives.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the capacity to demonstrate strong interpersonal, interviewing, teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
