Financial Analysis and Reporting:
As a key member of the University of Texas at Austin's Athletics Department, the Financial Operations Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex financial models related to the management of the department's financials. This includes aiding in internal and external financial reporting as assigned by the supervisor, establishing financial KPIs to aid in decision making, budgeting, and operational efficiency in support of the department. The ideal candidate will research best practices and alternative solutions for current business office applications and procedures, working with the financial leadership to propose, alter, design, and implement appropriate solutions to resolve inefficiencies and strengthen internal controls.

Budget Management:

The Financial Operations Manager will serve as an analyst for selected cost centers and centralized operations to ensure budgets are accurately developed, monitored, and maintained in accordance with the Athletic Department's policies and procedures and Financial Master Plan (FMP). This includes responding to inquiries on budget entries and corrections in a timely and professional manner, supporting the financial management and oversight strategies of the Athletics CFO. The candidate will perform reconciliation of financial information for the designated systems, accounts, and/or other financial information as designated by the supervisor, ensuring the original entries are accurate and reflected appropriately on the University's General Ledger in support of clear and substantive business process and financial reporting. Additionally, the Financial Operations Manager will review and approve financial entries and payments as assigned.

Reconciliation of Financial Data:
The Financial Operations Manager will perform reconciliation of financial information for the designated systems, accounts, and/or other financial information as designated by the supervisor. This includes ensuring the original entries are accurate and reflected appropriately on the University's General Ledger in support of clear and substantive business process and financial reporting. The candidate will review and approve financial entries and payments as assigned.

Data Visualization and Ad Hoc Reporting:
As a producer of data visualizations for the department, the Financial Operations Manager will prepare ad hoc data requests for the purpose of presentations, leads, and other departmental needs. The ideal candidate will aid in the rolling out and maintenance of data, ensuring the most effective segregation of duties across the Business Office staff.

Controls and Procedures:

The Financial Operations Manager will serve in designated primary and secondary roles to ensure compliance with the University's HBP (inventory, cash handling, and/or other assigned areas). The candidate will assist the Director(s) and Chief Financial Officer with the development, management, and distribution of relevant policies and procedures to ensure appropriate internal controls and record keeping. Additionally, the Financial Operations Manager will be responsible for specified financial duties, organized, and assigned to ensure the most effective segregation of duties across the Business Office staff.

Best Practices and Business Process Improvement:
The Financial Operations Manager will research best practices and alternative solutions for current business office applications and procedures, working with the financial leadership to propose, alter, design, and implement appropriate solutions to resolve inefficiencies and strengthen internal controls. This includes identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to enhance the department's financial operations and reporting processes.

Gameday Support:
The Financial Operations Manager will support the Athletic Department at home events/contests in support of the University's strategic plans and goals. This includes providing financial support and analysis to ensure the successful execution of events and activities.

The candidate will actively participate in assigned education and training programs, complying with all laws, policies, rules, and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Conference, or other governing body, including state and federal laws. Additionally, the Financial Operations Manager will annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income, reporting knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR. The candidate will fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA, and will not influence others in any way during an investigation.
