Position Overview:
This role is dedicated to providing care and supervision for children in an after-school environment. We seek individuals who possess a vibrant personality, a passion for engaging with children of diverse ages, and a commitment to being a constructive role model for our youth.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Site Coordinator, Child Care staff will:
- Implement educational programs within established frameworks.
- Design and execute daily lesson and activity plans.
- Oversee children, the classroom, and all related activities.
- Conduct systematic observations and assessments of each child's progress.
- Facilitate family meetings and maintain positive communication with families, encouraging their involvement as volunteers.
- Ensure the program site and equipment are well-maintained.
- Keep accurate program records as required.
- Participate in family events, program activities, staff meetings, and training sessions.
- Promote the physical, intellectual, social, cultural, and emotional well-being of the children.
- Collaborate with the team to plan and implement engaging activities.
- Provide direct leadership to assigned groups, ensuring constant visual supervision of all children.
- Engage in daily activities and assist children in completing tasks, including both land and water-based activities.
- Foster enthusiasm for programs and activities.
- Complete necessary documentation regarding attendance, health, and wellness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in program areas, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Follow all relevant policies and procedures set forth by regulatory agencies and the organization.
- Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Adhere to punctuality and dress code requirements, and attend all scheduled meetings.
- Assist in recruitment efforts and special events as needed.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Fulfill educational and experience requirements as mandated by state regulations.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED; additional educational qualifications may be required.
- Obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within the initial onboarding period.
- Have prior experience working with children in a developmental context.
- Demonstrate the ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities.
- Exhibit experience with diverse populations and the ability to cultivate authentic relationships.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must have the capability to lead and participate in various activities, ensuring the safety and supervision of children at all times.
