Role Overview
As a Trauma Performance Improvement Nurse Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in enhancing nursing practices and improving patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will coordinate patient care and clinical operations for the trauma program. Your duties will include:
- Assisting in the development, execution, and assessment of the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Plan.
- Maintaining the Trauma PI database to ensure compliance with regulatory documentation requirements.
- Conducting concurrent case reviews to evaluate quality, timeliness, and systems of care to align with state standards.
- Participating in educational initiatives for nursing staff and resident physicians involved in trauma care.
- Acting as a liaison between clinical areas responsible for trauma patients.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary Trauma Systems & Operations Committee and Peer Review meetings.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Required: Current Compact or Texas RN License, Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Required: Current Compact or Texas RN License, BCLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (to be obtained within one year).
- Preferred: Certified Emergency Room Nurse, Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, Advanced Trauma Nurse Course.
- Required: Three years of clinical experience in an ED with trauma designation (level IV or above) or ICU, one year of process improvement involvement, and one year of management experience.
- Preferred: One year of trauma coordinator experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work extended hours and manage interruptions effectively.
- Strong critical thinking and leadership capabilities.
- Proficient in computer skills, including scheduling software.
