Job Overview

The Fire Alarm and Security System Technician role at TEKsystems involves troubleshooting low voltage systems and resolving any problems. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of fire alarm and security products, supporting software, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, service, and inspections of fire alarms and associated systems
  • Completion of all necessary paperwork associated with service and inspections
  • Effective communication with customers before and after calls to explain work performed
  • Ensuring timely job completion
  • Daily updates with Project Managers and/or Schedule Coordinators on inspection or project delays, requirements, and general status of jobs
  • Participation in an on-call rotation
  • Mentoring Fire and/or Security technicians on tools and technology

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with NFPA 72, Florida Fire Prevention Code, and local building codes
  • Minimum 2 years' field experience in inspection, repair, and installation of fire alarm and security system systems
  • In-depth knowledge of low voltage systems
  • Experience working with Fire-Lite and Notifier brands of equipment
  • Able to read blueprints
  • Proficiency in computer and smartphone use, specifically Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, and Google Android
  • High-level troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized, motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision

Compensation Package: We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
