Overview

The Nuclear Pharmacy Technician is responsible for executing laboratory and pharmacy-related tasks under the direct oversight of a licensed Nuclear Pharmacist. This role requires working in a controlled environment with potential exposure to radiation.

Key Responsibilities
• Execute tasks related to the compounding, dispensing, and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals, including data entry for end-of-day and daily dose management reports.
• Ensure adherence to USP guidelines, proposed regulations, and relevant state pharmacy laws; maintain a valid personal license in accordance with state requirements.
• Complete cGMP documentation as mandated within SOFIE's Quality Management System.
• Uphold aseptic procedures in line with internal protocols (gowning, sanitation, sterility, environmental monitoring, etc.), customer specifications, and FDA regulations.
• Maintain a tidy and secure working environment.
• Conduct radiation safety tasks in compliance with SOFIE's Corporate Radiation Compliance Program and site licensing standards.
• Responsible for initiating and managing change controls, and reviewing SOFIE network and site-specific procedures relevant to their duties.
• Deliver exceptional customer service regarding radiopharmaceuticals to healthcare professionals and clients, including:
o Processing customer orders as permitted by state regulations
o Addressing customer inquiries
o Documenting pharmacy/customer complaints and promptly informing the pharmacist
• Manage inventory effectively:
o Ensure adequate levels of production/QC/cleaning supplies
o Conduct inventory reporting
o Perform material acceptance in accordance with SOPs
• Sanitize classified and non-classified areas as per SOPs.
• Conduct environmental monitoring of classified zones following SOPs.
• Complete cGMP documentation as required and assist site and corporate Quality Assurance as necessary.
• Support training initiatives for Pharmacy Technician I staff.
• Participate in internal meetings as necessary.
• Undertake other assigned responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications
• High school diploma is required; an associate's degree in chemistry, engineering, or natural sciences is preferred (as applicable to state laws).
• Pharmacy Technician Licensure or Certification as mandated by state law.
• Experience in sterile compounding and aseptic techniques is essential.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite is required.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and weekends is necessary.
• Must be detail-oriented, accountable, patient, organized, and able to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Strong communication skills with colleagues and customers, excellent attention to detail, and dependability in a fast-paced, technical environment are required.
• Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs is necessary.
• Up to 5% travel may be required.
