Primary Objective:

Qualifications:

Education/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas journeyman plumber license
  • Current Texas driver's license

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficient in plumbing repair, maintenance, and installation techniques

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference materials
  • Capable of performing mathematical calculations

Experience:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and conduct pressure tests on all piping, fittings, and fixtures related to heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems in accordance with specifications and plumbing codes
  • Identify sources of plumbing malfunctions and execute repairs as indicated or as per work orders
  • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, toilets, water heaters, and water softeners
  • Receive and complete work orders efficiently
  • Select appropriate materials and hardware while estimating time and materials
  • Maintain accurate records of materials and labor utilized
  • Oversee inventory of organization-owned tools, equipment, and materials
  • Inspect completed jobs to ensure cleanliness and compliance
  • Collaborate with supervisors to finalize projects
  • Detect necessary repairs on facilities and equipment following established inspection protocols
  • Respond to emergency plumbing calls as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

Safety:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
  • Operate tools and equipment following established safety protocols
  • Ensure all equipment is in safe working condition
  • Adhere to established safety procedures and techniques while performing job duties, including lifting and climbing
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any unresolvable issues to the supervisor immediately

  • Must be capable of lifting or exerting force of up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities are necessary for this role.
  • Must manage environmental characteristics associated with this job, including moderate to high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, airborne fumes and particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
