Nurse Specialist in General Surgery and Trauma Care

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will contribute to the creation of a compassionate and caring environment for patients, families, and colleagues through displays of kindness and active listening.
Responsibilities
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have experience in general surgery and trauma care.
- Possession of a current RN license in New York State is required.
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred.
