FACILITIES MANAGER

We are seeking a seasoned Facilities Manager to oversee all building-related activities in conjunction with our full-time Facilities staff members who manage our portfolio of 20 commercial office buildings.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the good condition of infrastructure and ensuring that facilities are safe, clean, well-functioning, and professionally presented.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, plans, and budgets for facility maintenance, site improvements, and new construction projects.
  • Collaborate with ownership to develop project specifications and review bid specifications to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Coordinate and oversee installations and refurbishments, including telecommunications, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, and other systems.
  • Manage payment applications and ensure timely payment of work completed according to established policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate site visits, pre-bid conferences, and job meetings as required.
  • Prepare reports, maintain project records, and ensure compliance with current standards, codes, and ordinances.
  • Collaborate with facilities staff, external contractors, business partners, inspectors, and local government offices.
  • Maintain files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, contracts, service agreements, and other documents.
  • Control activities such as parking lot allocation, waste disposal, building security, and perform periodic interior and exterior inspections.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Any combination equivalent to: graduation from a two- or four-year college program relating to construction management or a related area of specialty and two years of experience in construction/maintenance specification writing and/or preparation and experience in building construction.
  • Proven experience as a facilities project coordinator or manager or relevant position.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Current with construction methods, costs, and cost estimating.
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other facility-related systems.
  • Use appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Produce oral and written reports as needed.
  • Meet schedules and timelines using communication and organization skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment and buildings.
  • Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.
