About the Role

Plexus Scientific is seeking a highly skilled Health Physicist to join our team as a Radiation Safety Expert. As a key member of our Nuclear Solutions Division, you will provide operational and technical support to our clients in the government, biotechnology research, educational, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide radiation protection support at job sites, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and minimizing exposure to personnel, the public, and the environment.
  • Develop and implement radiation safety policies, plans, and procedures, as well as perform radiation surveys and support licensing and audits.
  • Manage dosimetry and instrument programs, train personnel, and prepare technical reports.
  • Work as a site radiation safety officer (RSO) for temporary and longer-term projects, including facilities licensed by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Agreement States, and FUSRAP sites.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of work plans for radiological surveys, instrument operation, and data collection.
  • Perform audits and inspections, environmental monitoring, sampling, and analysis during site investigations and remediation.
  • Provide regulatory support, waste management, and oversight of other health physics staff.
Requirements
  • Formal training in radiation protection topics, including physics of radiation, radiation's interaction with matter, mathematics, biological effects of radiation, and radiation safety techniques.
  • Hands-on training in equipment, instrumentation, procedures, and theory.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, including those of the NRC, EPA, DOE, OSHA, DOT, and DoD.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience in preparing technical reports in health physics, radiation safety program management, and regulatory compliance.
