We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Veterinarian or Sr. Clinical Veterinarian to join our team at the University of Cincinnati. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced academic research environment and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge.

The successful candidate will have a Doctoral Degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an AVMA-accredited school and at least three years of experience in laboratory animal medicine. They will also have knowledge of pertinent laws and regulations, as well as the ability to obtain an Ohio license within one year and Board certification in laboratory animal medicine within one year.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $150,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. Job Description

This is a full-time position that requires a Doctoral Degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an AVMA-accredited school. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in laboratory animal medicine, knowledge of pertinent laws and regulations, and the ability to obtain an Ohio license within one year and Board certification in laboratory animal medicine within one year.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing veterinary care and guidance to our animal research teams, as well as assisting with training and oversight of laboratory animal procedures and providing regulatory guidance and oversight, helping to maintain university regulatory compliance and AAALAC International accreditation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical guidance to veterinary technical staff for rodent health cases and for care of USDA covered species.
  • Support the Director by providing didactic and hands-on training for LAMS technical staff, veterinary technicians, and research staff members.
  • Provide support for regulatory compliance and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) activities.
