Procurement Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement professional to join our team at American Airlines. As a key member of our Procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic programs that align with internal stakeholder needs, focusing on cost-effective solutions, timely acquisition, and comprehensive supply management.

• Drive results through action-oriented initiatives and strong relationship-building skills
• Innovate and creatively solve problems, taking full ownership of your projects
• Represent American Airlines in negotiations and business dealings, both internally and externally
• Act as a catalyst for change, streamlining processes for greater efficiency
• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of commodities and categories
• Assist with the development and implementation of category strategies as a strategic thinker
• Assist with RFP processes and contract negotiations
• Enhance company value while fostering positive supplier relationships
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand their needs and integrate them into procurement processes
• Communicate effectively, demonstrating emotional intelligence in all interactions

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
• Advanced degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other related field
• Proficiency in Source to Pay systems
• Experience in vendor relationship management
• Skills in process mapping and supplier risk analysis
