Job Summary

An Assembly Specialist will be responsible for producing high-precision assemblies or components with strict adherence to established instructions. The job requires attention to fine detail and an ability to maintain consistent process proven by frequent in-process inspection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Inspection: Use tools and equipment to produce high-precision assemblies or components and meet daily production targets. May require the use of test equipment to measure completed work and work in process.
  • Communication: Communicate with lead, supervisor, or area manager about any issues or problems in production immediately.
  • Process Control: Process parts or components on jobs in queue 100% of available time. Ensure that all required data entry is occurring for each job and that all required information is being accurately entered.
  • Quality Assurance: Adhere to check-good-pass-good inspection criteria and in-process inspection for all jobs, including daily calibration and expiration checks for all areas where work is to be done.
  • Tool Maintenance: Clean and maintain tooling, machinery, and work area daily. Follow all company safety precautions, policies, and procedures.
Work Environment

The Assembly Specialist will work in a manufacturing environment with a moderate noise level. The employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. Safety glasses are required, and area-specific safety training may be necessary.

Requirements
  • Education: GED or High School diploma; vocational education preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in a production environment related to the department or equivalent work experience desired.
  • Skills: Familiarity with computers, including Microsoft Office; proficient math skills; ability to follow, repeat, and adhere to detailed instructions while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, reach, and use hands and fingers to handle and maneuver parts; frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing.
