About the Job

The Director of Distribution has full responsibility for the overall success of the facility, including on-time shipping, inventory control, associate management and development, facility configuration to drive efficiencies, capacity planning, and inbound and outbound time performance.

This is a challenging and entrepreneurial role in a rapidly growing company. If you have extensive experience leading distribution centers and enjoy fast-paced work, we'd like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of orders to meet or exceed our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Manage the flow of work through the facility to meet/exceed well-defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Partner with the wave team to ensure waving of orders supports SLAs and efficient workflow.
  • Plan, direct, and control inventory activities for all items in the warehouse, including oversight for the cycle count program, accuracy levels, and discrepancy reconciliation and reporting.
  • Partner with the Director of Quality Control and QC team to ensure product standards are met and maintained across all categories.
  • Recruit, select, orient, train, coach, counsel, and discipline managers; communicate values, strategies, and objectives; assign accountabilities; plan, monitor, and appraise job results; develop incentives; cultivate a climate for offering information and opinions; and provide growth opportunities.
  • Develop a strategic plan for the Distribution Center by studying technological and financial opportunities, presenting analysis, and recommending objectives.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by working closely with other departments within Loloi Rugs and accomplishing related results for the business' overall success.
  • Capacity planning and forecasting.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • This is a management position with significant time spent in the office, but distribution managers are expected to spend time daily on the floor, inspecting their departments, and communicating directly with employees in the workspace.
  • Ability to stoop, stand, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others.
  • This is a distribution position in a warehouse environment with temperature changes and dust and fibers present.
  • Loloi Rugs strives to maintain a clean, clear, and safe work environment and expects all employees to do their part in that effort.
  • Loloi Rugs' rugs are made using various natural fibers, including wool, cotton, and jute. Associates will encounter these through the normal course of performing everyday job duties.
  • Powered equipment is used throughout the distribution facility. Operation of this equipment may or may not be part of the job requirement, but associates must be aware of them in the immediate and surrounding work areas and maintain a safe environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field.
  • 10 years or more experience in a related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of distribution operations, preferably in textiles or similar industries.
