We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a critical role in helping patients recover from injuries or illnesses and regain their independence.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patients' physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities and develop individualized treatment plans to enhance their functional independence.
- Implement treatment plans using various techniques, including assistive devices and splints, to help patients achieve their goals.
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, adjusting treatment plans as needed, and provide status updates to physicians.
- Identify factors affecting patients' physical and psychosocial comfort and attend to these needs.
- Plan for and complete patient discharge, including providing written home programs, patient/family teaching, referral for community services, and ordering equipment.
- Complete all required documentation, including patient progress notes, team conference reports, discharge summaries, and records patient care and progress.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- Occupational Therapist license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- No experience required.
This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and squat throughout the workday. The incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 10 lbs. from waist to overhead, and lift and carry up to 40 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance. The position also requires repetitive use of hands, including simple grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation of hands during massage and joint mobilization.
