Water Safety Specialist

We are seeking skilled and enthusiastic individuals to fill the role of Water Safety Specialist at the Quincy Kroc Center. This is a unique opportunity for those interested in a career in aquatic safety, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our patrons.
As a Water Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for preventing accidents and responding swiftly to any emergencies that may arise in the pool area. You will also be tasked with enforcing pool rules and regulations while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor. Additionally, you will be required to act immediately and appropriately in the event of emergencies, and provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with inquiries and providing guidance as needed.
The ideal candidate will have strong swimming skills and a passion for water safety, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to remain calm and focused in emergency situations. The Quincy Kroc Center is a vibrant and dynamic community center that offers a wide range of programs and services to its members. Our facility includes an indoor aquatics center, fitness and recreation center, classrooms, and special event facilities. As a Water Safety Specialist, you will be working in a fast-paced and exciting environment that is dedicated to providing hope and transformation to the community.
We offer a competitive salary range of $14-16/hour, with opportunities for development and advancement. Paid time off and free employee membership are also available to all employees.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the pool area to prevent accidents and respond swiftly to any emergencies.
- Enforce pool rules and regulations while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Act immediately and appropriately in the event of emergencies.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with inquiries and providing guidance as needed.
- Perform regular pool maintenance tasks to keep the area clean and organized.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- Strong swimming skills and a passion for water safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in emergency situations.
- Willingness to complete lifeguard training (paid) upon hire.
