Job Title:

Senior Tax Analyst - Renewable Energy

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Analyst to join our Tax Forecast team at NextEra Energy, Inc. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing key aspects of the tax forecasting process, developing and reviewing financial models, and working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance income tax benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage tax forecast cycle deliverables for monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Develop and review financial models related to business development initiatives
  • Partner with other members of Tax Operations to identify and explain variances from actuals
  • Partner with the Federal/State planning teams to ensure all M&A and other restructuring transactions are accurately modeled and included in the forecast
  • Partner with other members of the Finance, Business Management and Business Development teams to enhance income tax analytics and benefits in project modeling
  • Manage cross-functional projects to enhance income tax benefits across the business portfolio
  • Drive design and implementation of tax technology tools and data management solutions to automate and reduce risk related to forecasting
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Well-developed analytical and commercial skills with an ability to identify and document both issues and proposed resolutions with minimal guidance
  • Proven ability to prepare and review executive communications on financial impacts of key decisions
  • Ability to perform analysis on data and macro-economic trends to enhance business decisions
  • Strong computer skills with a focus on both analytical and research tools including SAP, Business Warehouse, Advanced excel, Power Query / Alteryx or similar platforms
  • Proven ability to lead projects to improve quality, efficiency, predictability and/or transparency
  • Desire to seek new and challenging tasks - self-starter mentality
Job Overview:

This role is responsible for the more complex projects associated with the maintenance of tax records and the preparation of all or specifically assigned tax returns, complex separate company corporate income tax and partnership tax returns and consolidated tax returns and related reports. Employees in this role may provide functional advice or training to less-experienced tax accountants.

  • Bachelor's - Degree
  • Experience: 4+ years
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Master's - Accounting / Finance
