Key Responsibilities
  • The Cardiac Care Support Specialist is expected to demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care for patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Cardiac Unit, under the guidance of licensed personnel.
  • This role involves patient care activities requiring specialized training in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
  • Operates under moderate supervision from nursing and medical staff to fulfill all duties of a Patient Care Technician, including assisting patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
  • Monitors patients' progress and prepares reports for Registered Nurses or other medical professionals.
  • Records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Facilitates basic patient transport and performs housekeeping tasks as needed.
  • Additionally, this position is responsible for measuring and documenting patients' intake and output, along with other metrics as per unit protocols, and assisting patients with mobility exercises.
  • Adherence to the regulations established by the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act is essential.
Qualifications

Essential Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Competence in at least two general practice areas (cross-trained to cover multiple hospital services, roles, or functions).
  • Basic Life Support certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited CNA, PCT, or paramedic program, or currently enrolled in a nursing program.
  • Two years of experience in acute or long-term care settings.
