Job Summary

CHS Inc. is seeking a skilled Hazmat Driver/Applicator to join our team in Havre. This hybrid role involves delivering products to customers and applying fertilizer to customer fields. As a local position, drivers are home daily, with deliveries made Monday-Friday during daytime hours. Opportunities for overtime are available during busy seasons, particularly in the spring and fall.

This role is eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus, with $1,500 paid after 30 days of employment and another $1,500 after 180 days.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely deliveries to customers in a safe, professional manner.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal laws, including pre-trip and post-trip reporting, proper load securement, and hours of service.
  • Assist in the warehouse when not delivering products.
  • Work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture, following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Assist warehouse staff and perform other duties as needed or assigned.
  • Apply fertilizer and crop protection products under general supervision, potentially using high-clearance sprayers or floaters.
  • Educate customers on products being applied, techniques used, and how to continue supporting them with products and services.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Class A or B CDL
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Meet minimum age requirement
Additional Qualifications
  • Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements preferred
  • Meet DOT and Company requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to work additional hours and occasional weekends to meet business demands
  • Bulk liquid experience preferred
  • Pre-employment screening may be required, including drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements, and FMSCA Clearinghouse
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 80 lbs, walk, stand, sit, bend, and kneel
