Job Summary

Arcfield is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to integrate business systems in support of telecommunications systems. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing, documenting, and evaluating current business processes to recommend changes that improve efficiency and stability.

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Provisioning of voice systems
  • Billing for voice-related products
  • Collection and processing of telephone call detail records
  • Interfacing with other systems

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in multiple technical areas, including Linux and Windows server operating systems, Oracle and other database technology, Structured Query Language (SQL), and Shell Scripting.

Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer will participate in the evaluation and selection of a replacement suite of systems to replace the current systems, as well as developing and overseeing a transition plan to the new system(s). This includes:

  • Understanding, documenting, and evaluating existing telephone business systems interface, processes, and systems
  • Evaluating and reviewing new possible products to replace the existing systems
  • Developing a plan to transition from the existing system to the new system with minimal impact on the business
  • Hands-on capability to install software, run database queries, troubleshoot software, write shell scripts, and SQL queries
  • Developing security accreditation documentation and obtaining accreditation for the new system
  • Developing and testing interfaces to other systems

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline is required. The candidate should have analytical and conceptual skills, ability to create original concepts/theories for various projects, and technology design skills. The ability to logically and systematically convert customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints is also essential.

The successful candidate will have experience with activity and data modeling, transaction flow analysis, internal control and risk analysis, and modern business methods and performance measurement techniques. Strong oral and written communications and interpersonal skills are also required. The ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals and work in a dynamic and challenging environment is essential.
