As a key member of the Facilities Management department, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across the state's facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of HVAC technicians and contractors to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
  • Conduct site visits to assess HVAC system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failures and reduce energy consumption.
  • Collaborate with other trades and departments to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems with other building systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians and contractors.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to ensure the Commonwealth's HVAC systems remain state-of-the-art.

Requirements:

  • Valid DPOR licensure as an HVAC technician.
  • Universal E.P.A. certification for handling CFC refrigerants.
  • Proven experience in HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair, with a focus on commercial and industrial systems.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DPOR licensure in other mechanical fields.
  • Experience with technology, including requisition and timecard submission systems.
  • Certifications in welding, OSHA, and other related trades.
  • Commercial experience with steam pressurized delivery systems, converters, and other complex HVAC systems.
