Instructional Program Coordinator

Overview:
The role involves providing guidance, mentorship, and coordination to establish a comprehensive and organized instructional framework in K-12 Reading Language Arts, in accordance with the High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) established by the organization, while promoting effective teaching methodologies.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field
- Master's Degree in Reading Language Arts or Curriculum and Instruction (preferred)
- Valid teaching certification with necessary endorsements for the assigned subjects
- Bilingual and/or ESL certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Expertise in curriculum development and execution; familiarity with K-5 Dual Language programs is a plus.
- Capability to assess instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to design and deliver professional development for adult learners
- Proficient in data interpretation
- Strong technological skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities
Experience:
- A minimum of 4 years of teaching experience
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the evaluation, creation, and modification of all subject area programs K-12, including curriculum documents, TEKS, course outlines, and instructional planning calendars.
2. Collaborate with educational leaders, campus administrators, instructional coaches, and Deans to develop and manage instructional programs in designated subject areas.
3. Create assessments and evaluation tools to gauge student progress and proficiency in reading and language arts.
4. Provide training and support for educators on effective teaching strategies, current research, and innovative methodologies in reading and language arts instruction.
5. Analyze assessment data to identify areas requiring support and opportunities for enhancement.
6. Partner with school administrators, Deans, and instructional coaches to tackle challenges, implement new strategies, and enhance literacy education across campuses.
7. Observe classroom instruction to ensure curriculum fidelity and offer constructive feedback to teachers and stakeholders.
8. Utilize effective communication skills to convey information accurately and clearly.
9. Stay informed of and adhere to state, district, and school regulations and policies.
10. Collect and analyze feedback from educators and students to facilitate continuous improvements in reading and language arts programs and materials.
11. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Reading Language Arts, ensuring that the curriculum and resources utilized in teaching are effective, research-based, and aligned with educational standards to foster student success.
12. Act as a resource and mentor for RLA Instructional Coaches, providing guidance in lesson planning, classroom management, and differentiated instruction.
13. Lead RLA Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings and encourage collaboration among teachers to share effective practices.
14. Develop and manage intervention programs for students requiring additional support in reading and writing.
15. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning by encouraging feedback, reflection, and innovation among educators.
16. Demonstrate adaptability to fast-paced environments and effectively manage change.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Reading Language Arts Subject Matter Experts will oversee the RLA instructional coaches regarding content. They will ensure that instructional coaches receive necessary training in all curriculum and platforms, meeting weekly to discuss updates on the teachers they are mentoring.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computers and peripherals.
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
Environment: Frequent travel between campuses and occasional travel to surrounding areas.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
