Safety Coordinator Job Description

At National Guard Employment Network, we are committed to providing a safe working environment for all employees. As a Safety Coordinator, you will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and managing safety programs and initiatives to ensure a safe working environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety programs and initiatives to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Design and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Lead investigations into workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and develop preventive measures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and job safety analyses to identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
  • Develop and maintain safety data sheets (SDS) and ensure proper labeling and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Perform ergonomic assessments to identify and mitigate risks associated with workstation design and task performance.
  • Develop and implement ergonomic improvement plans to reduce musculoskeletal disorders and enhance employee comfort and productivity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 years experience in a safety coordinator or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs and training.
