Role Summary:

This entry-level position offers a starting wage of $18.00 per hour with comprehensive training provided.

A $500.00 New Hire Incentive is available upon successful completion of a minimum three-month training period.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must possess a customer service-oriented and approachable demeanor.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
  • Obtain a CDL license within one month of employment; training is available for qualified individuals.
  • Willingness to work various shifts.
  • May operate from designated operational centers.

Successful applicants will:

  • Undergo a pre-employment drug screening with a negative result required.
  • Be at least 21 years old to qualify for a CDL.
  • Have a satisfactory driving history for the past three years, with no more than one moving violation or one at-fault accident.
  • Not have any DUI convictions within the last decade.
  • Provide proof of personal auto insurance.
  • Be eligible for employment, as the organization provides transportation for Federal and State programs, which may exclude individuals with felony convictions.
  • Demonstrate a verifiable, positive work history without separations due to substance abuse violations.
  • Meet DOT physical qualifications, with certain medical conditions potentially qualifying under DOT regulations.
  • Fulfill physical requirements necessary for safely assisting passengers in emergencies and accommodating individuals with disabilities.

Training and Employment:

Classroom training for drivers will last a minimum of five days. All drivers must complete a Commercial Drivers License physical and pass the CDL core knowledge test within 30 days of employment.

A training period of at least three months applies to all new hires.

Full-Time Employment Benefits Include:

  • Paid time off, including vacation, holidays, sick leave, and personal time.
  • Insurance benefits and access to an IMRF Retirement Plan and a 457b Retirement Account.

This is a Drug-Free workplace. Federal regulations mandate pre-employment drug testing for all drivers. The use of recreational and medical marijuana is prohibited under DOT regulations.
