Role of the Educational Support Specialist
The Educational Support Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering academic assistance and implementing behavioral strategies within a structured educational setting. Collaborating closely with the lead educator, the specialist will focus on addressing the individual academic and emotional needs of students as outlined in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the preparation of lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Providing one-on-one tutoring and group support to enhance student learning.
- Monitoring student attendance and tracking academic progress.
- Exhibiting a strong commitment to the organization's mission and adhering to established policies and procedures.
Work Schedule
This position is designed to be year-round, ensuring continuous support for our students.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED; an Associate's Degree is preferred.
- Professional experience working with children who have emotional and behavioral challenges is essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
