Position Overview:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Operations Leader is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the manufacturing activities within the plant to ensure the efficient assembly of high-quality products, delivered on time and profitably. This role involves maintaining external relationships with other company locations, customers, and suppliers as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct all assembly operations within the plant, coordinating the activities of production departments while being attuned to customer shipping requirements, work schedules, and quality standards.
  • Analyze and determine the necessary materials, equipment, and staffing through daily discussions with team members and regular communication with department heads to address production challenges.
  • Ensure the overall quality of the products manufactured, possessing the authority to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions, including halting production when necessary.
  • Inspire and guide the training of all production staff, selecting competent individuals and fostering their development by leveraging their strengths and addressing weaknesses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in leading operations within a multi-shift production environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities are essential.
  • Familiarity with safety, quality, productivity, inventory, and stewardship processes.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office (Excel) and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to foster accountability and lead by example.
  • Strong skills in team building, decision-making, and personnel management.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in the automotive industry is advantageous.
