Full-Time Agricultural Sales Specialist

Castlewood Farmers Elevator is in search of a dedicated and skilled Agricultural Sales Specialist with a strong emphasis on seed marketing and management. The successful candidate will have a solid foundation in agronomy, outstanding sales capabilities, and a comprehensive knowledge of seed technologies and products.

This role is a full-time position, with standard working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Additional hours and weekend work may be required during peak agricultural seasons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell seeds, fertilizers, and crop protection solutions, with a primary focus on seed marketing and management.
  • Formulate and execute sales strategies to meet seed sales objectives.
  • Offer expert agronomic guidance to farmers and clients regarding seed selection, planting techniques, and crop management practices.
  • Communicate new product offerings and pricing details to clients effectively.
  • Conduct farm visits to engage with both new and existing customers.
  • Oversee and manage inventory, bookings, claims processing, and invoicing.
  • Establish and nurture customer relationships with a strong emphasis on service excellence.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and new product developments through continuous learning.
  • Scout agricultural fields and collect soil samples for analysis.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for customers and colleagues through regular cleaning and maintenance.
  • Complete all safety documentation and maintain accurate records as required.
  • Manage seed treating processes and ensure the cleanliness of seed treating facilities.
  • Operate equipment such as wheel loaders, forklifts, and skid steers as necessary.
  • Assist with grain receiving and collaborate with other departments as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related discipline. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including prolonged standing and sitting, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 55 lbs unassisted.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to work extended hours beyond standard working times when necessary.
  • A clean driving record is essential.
  • Class A CDL is preferred.
