Role Summary:

The Cellular Immunotherapies and Transplant Program Registered Nurse RN Rotating role at VCU Health is a dynamic opportunity to join a multidisciplinary care team focused on delivering innovative, patient-centered care to adult and pediatric patients with blood and bone marrow disorders.

As a key member of our team, you will apply the nursing process, technical, and clinical skills to meet the unique needs of each patient and family, while building healing relationships that focus on recovery and survivorship in the inpatient and outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with physicians and conduct in-depth evaluations to develop personalized treatment plans
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients, including chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, blood product transfusions, symptom management, and central line management
  • Work closely with a large team of supportive care specialists to address the psychological and social impacts of cancer on patients
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans, ensuring seamless transitions between inpatient and outpatient settings
Unit Summary:

The inpatient unit is a 21-bed unit that provides leading-edge, collaborative, and comprehensive care for both pediatric and adult patients with a variety of blood and bone marrow disorders.

A typical shift for our nurse includes a team of mixed registered nurses, clinical coordinators, and Patient Care Techs (PCTs) caring for adult patients.

Outpatient Clinic Unit Summary:

This is a multi-faceted clinic that provides cutting-edge, collaborative, and comprehensive care to adult patients with a variety of blood and bone marrow disorders.

Our clinic is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including holidays.

Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-2 years Oncology Nursing Experience
  • Bone Marrow Transplant Nursing experience is preferred (clinic or inpatient)
  • RNs with Chemo Certification
