Job Title: Field Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at Michelli Weighing & Measurement. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing technical services on industrial weighing and measurement equipment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Work Safely: Accidents are preventable, and we expect all employees to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Customer Service: Greet customers with a warm and positive attitude, and provide excellent service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Teamwork: Respect your co-workers and work collaboratively to achieve common goals.
  • Reliability: Expect to be on-time and ready for work each day, unless notified otherwise.
  • Reporting: Responsible for reporting directly to your assigned manager or supervisor.
  • Physical Exams and Background Screenings: Agree to and must successfully pass ongoing Physical Exams, Background Screenings, Drug and Alcohol testing as required.
  • Safety Training: Agree to and must successfully pass ongoing safety training, both general and customer site-specific safety training.
  • Equipment Installation and Repair: Set-up, install, repair industrial weighing equipment in the shop and at customer sites, often working independently.
  • Technical Training: Attend technical training sessions to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
  • Quality Management: Meet ISO9001 Quality Management System objectives and follow processes.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain an orderly work area and clean company vehicle.
  • Service Reports: Write neat and accurate service reports.
  • Travel: Travel is required via company vehicle, with occasional exceptions.
  • Vehicle Operation: Drive a company-issued vehicle as required for the job and follow any state and local laws while operating the vehicle.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in the on-call rotation for service technicians.
  • Overtime: Accept overtime work as necessary.
  • Communication: Carry a cell phone or paging device when on-duty or on-call.
  • Team Support: Willing to assist other co-workers when available or time permits.
  • CDL License: Willing to obtain a CDL class B license.
Job Qualifications:
  • Low-Voltage Electronic Instrument Troubleshooting: Low-voltage electronic instrument troubleshooting and repair.
  • Tool Handling: Able to handle tools to perform repair activities.
  • Computer Skills: Able to use computers and mobile devices.
  • Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint programs and Web browsers.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Mechanical aptitude, understanding of mechanical movement concepts.
  • Technical Knowledge: Read and understand electronic schematic diagrams and technical manuals.
  • Driver's License: Possess and Maintain a valid State issued Driver's License.
  • Background Screenings: Submit to and pass Pre-Employment Background Screen, Drug and Alcohol testing as required.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Electronics Education: Electronics Education preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to safely lift and walk 50 feet with a 50 lb test weight.
  • Weather Conditions: Work outdoors in cold and hot temperature extremes.
