About the Role

AWARE is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our mental health care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete intake assessments and follow-ups for psychiatric medication management.
  • Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans in accordance with statutes, regulations, and protocols regulating the profession.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide psychiatric health services, education, counseling, and emotional support to patients.
  • Participate in regular individual and group clinical supervision/support from the Medical Director, a Board-Certified Adult and Child/Adolescent psychiatrist.
  • Refer patients for other levels of care, in collaboration with the Medical Director.
  • Issue medication prescriptions in accordance with treatment guidelines.
  • Order laboratory tests, interpret, and explain the test results to patients.
  • Provide patient and treatment team education regarding medications, risks, benefits, and reasonable outcome expectations.
  • Communicate with patients and treatment teams and engage in follow-up as necessary.
Requirements
  • MSN or DNP (or equivalent) APRN, PMHNP board-certified or eligible with 1+ year psychiatric nursing experience.
  • Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
