About the Role
As a key member of our Manufacturing Engineering team within the Diagnostics and Genomics Group (DGG), you will collaborate closely with various departments in the Order Fulfillment and Supply Chain (OFS) to facilitate the production of highly regulated medical devices. These devices play a crucial role in assisting healthcare professionals in selecting appropriate therapies for their patients.
In this dynamic and visible position, you will engage in hands-on support for production equipment, focusing on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining essential robotics and automation systems. You will oversee capital equipment and improvement initiatives while working in partnership with vendors and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on engineering support for robotic and automated production equipment in a regulated environment.
- Define, procure, and support robotic and automated filling, labeling, and packaging systems.
- Utilize project management skills to lead and support capital equipment and enhancement projects.
- Diagnose equipment failures with an emphasis on identifying root causes.
- Lead the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and address audit findings.
- Prepare and support validation processes to comply with FDA and regulatory standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and minimize manufacturing costs.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Automation, or a related Engineering discipline, along with 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with automation and robotics, including PLCs and HMIs.
- Experience in maintaining robotic and automated systems.
- Familiarity with process and equipment validation, including documentation and execution of IQ, OQ, and PQ.
- Strong technical, project management, and documentation skills.
- A self-motivated, organized, and analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of FDA QSR requirements and ISO 13485 standards.
- Experience managing suppliers and subcontractors.
- Familiarity with DI water systems and central monitoring systems.
- Experience with FMEA, DOE, and SPC methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
- Experience with SAP, Agile, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Hands-on experience programming various robotic systems and automation equipment.
