Job Summary

Elderwood is seeking a highly skilled and experienced MDS Coordinator (RN) to join our team. As a key member of our clinical operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the completion of Medicare PPS MDS and OBRA assessments, establishing schedules for assessment completion, and ensuring accurate reimbursement and RUGs categorization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medicare Reimbursement Management: Oversee the completion of Medicare PPS MDS and OBRA assessments, ensuring accurate and timely submission to maximize reimbursement.
  • Assessment Scheduling: Establish schedules for assessment completion to optimize reimbursement and RUGs categorization.
  • Eligibility and Reimbursement Tracking: Collaborate with the business office to determine eligibility for Medicare and track Medicare days in the facility.
  • Managed Care Coordination: Serve as the facility contact with Managed Care providers to ensure proper authorization and reimbursement for facility services.
  • Team Support: Provide support and guidance to the business office and other departments as needed.
Requirements
  • Licensure: Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
  • Experience: Prior experience with MDS 3.0 scheduling, coding, and submission requirements, as well as experience with PointClickCare and Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) and Case Mix Index (CMI).
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, self-motivation, and high organizational skills.
  • Language: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
