Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Occupancy Specialist to join our team at The John Stewart Company. As a key member of our housing management team, you will be responsible for leasing units, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and process rental applications and leases for accuracy and completeness
  • Exercise sound judgment and discretion in daily interactions with residents, vendors, and colleagues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident files, adhering to established regulatory guidelines
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, ensuring compliance with lease agreements and company policies
  • Assist residents with interim and annual recertifications, ensuring timely and accurate completion
Requirements
  • Minimum two years' experience in housing management, social services, or a related field
  • Familiarity with subsidized housing programs and regulatory guidelines
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Tax Credit Specialist or Certified Occupancy Specialist designations a plus
