Job Summary:

Halff Associates is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented GIS Intern to join our team in Richardson, TX. As a GIS Intern, you will assist in the development and maintenance of GIS mapping tasks, database development, and engineering-related studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Converting raster data to vector data
  • Gathering and interpreting cross-sections and plans
  • Creating and editing GIS files
  • Analyzing spatial relationships
  • Map production and familiarity with various types of spatial data
  • Data reporting, data review, and technical documentation

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, or other GIS-related field
  • Working knowledge of general GIS concepts (editing, topology, queries, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and improve workflows
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce quality work

Desired Skills:

  • ArcGIS Desktop v10.x and/or ArcGIS Pro 2.x-3
  • Microsoft Office
  • Strong work ethic
  • Interest in staying current on uses and best practices of geospatial technology
