The Elizabeth Richardson Center Inc. is seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker/Transportation Coordinator to join our team.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work in a supportive environment where you will be responsible for establishing a secure and positive atmosphere that fosters clients' self-expression, needs, and goals. As a Disability Support Worker, you will teach and develop prevocational, vocational skills, alternative program skills, life skills, and light assembly sub-contract work for adults with developmental disabilities.

You will also be responsible for training clients on individualized goals in a light assembly, workplace environment. Providing safe transportation of clients on assigned routes is another key aspect of this role.

Responsibilities
  • Train and/or assist clients in activities of daily living, including light assembly sub-contract work, effective communication in a workplace setting, appropriate social skills, cleaning environments, and more.
  • Ensure clients participate in and are informed of progress toward goals and objectives as written in their individual program plans.
  • Guarantee clients' rights and safety while treating others with dignity and respect in all situations, adhering to Elizabeth Richardson Center Policies & Procedures and State/Federal guidelines.
  • Document and submit clients' production and time worked daily.
  • Document and submit clients' daily goals, client attendance, and documentation in Therap and DeTASO daily.
  • Document and submit required reports to supervisors as needed, following State/Federal guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work and break areas.
  • Provide safe transportation for all clients as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Conduct daily safety checks of vans before and after trips, reporting any unsafe conditions or potential problems to the Transportation Supervisor immediately.
  • Operate wheelchair lifts safely.
Requirements
  • Able to communicate effectively with consumers, clients, and staff.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to write detailed reports and correspondences, demonstrating verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in operating computer systems and programs, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, preparing documents, interpreting, and developing spreadsheets.
  • Knowledgeable of policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with adult learning training methods.
  • Ability to use various training methods.
  • Ability to prepare training materials and packets as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and timely with peers, subordinates, and supervisors.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, reports, or manuals.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires working in a typical warehouse environment, necessitating sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitious computer and phone work.

Lifting 50 lbs may be required occasionally.

Local travel (less than 10%) may be necessary for this position.

We offer competitive compensation for this role, estimated at $45,000-$55,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
