About the Role

Arkansas Support Network is seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team as a Behavioral Health Clinician. This dynamic role will provide behavioral health services to individuals receiving support through our organization.

Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Clinician will collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless delivery of behavioral health functions that enhance and support our programmatic work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement evidence-based positive behavioral interventions and supports within the community, fostering sustainable behavioral changes that improve functioning and quality of life.
  • Provide tailored therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults at risk of out-of-home placement or who have returned home from residential placement, requiring flexible wrap-around support for safety and community integration.
  • Deliver behavioral health training for direct service staff and/or family members on topics like positive behavioral approaches, crisis intervention, sexuality support, community inclusion, human rights, and dignity of risk.
  • Consult and collaborate with individuals, families, legal guardians, responsible parties, service providers, and other involved parties to implement clinical and therapeutic aspects of individual plans.
  • Assist individuals in unexpected or high-risk situations, such as housing loss, employment instability, incarceration, self-harm, family conflicts, hospitalization, or emergencies.
  • Consult on adaptive equipment services to enhance functional capacity for daily life tasks.
  • Develop collaborative responses for people with disabilities in interactions with law enforcement and community partners, aiming to enhance safety through skills training, interventions, and resource coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records, gathering data for management purposes and preparing reports as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality of individual information.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree and clinical license in social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • Ability to apply an intersectionality framework when providing behavioral health services for individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong communication, active listening, empathy, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with direct support for individuals with disabilities is preferred.
