Position Summary
The Senior Accounting Specialist will manage a wide array of accounting functions, including month-end close processes, journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute month-end closing activities.
- Prepare and record journal entries.
- Manage monthly accruals and deferrals.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and analyses.
- Review expense reports.
- Update banking information.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Analyze monthly trends and variances.
- Report monthly results to accounting leadership.
- Assist with annual audits.
- Collaborate with the accounting manager and controller on special projects and process enhancements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of GAAP.
- Strong analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills with adaptability to change.
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, along with general computer skills.
- Ability to function as a flexible team player to achieve accounting objectives and adapt to the dynamic nature of a growing business.
Skills and Attributes
- High level of organization and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines consistently and follow departmental procedures.
- Effective communication skills for presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers, vendors, and colleagues.
- Capacity to work independently.
- Experience with Oracle is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
