Position Summary: The Lead Internal Audit Specialist will take charge of directing and executing internal audit initiatives, ensuring adherence to financial regulations, and delivering insightful recommendations to enhance operational effectiveness. This position necessitates a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a background in a Big 4 accounting firm and experience in large-scale manufacturing environments.
Core Responsibilities:
- Direct and perform internal audits to evaluate the efficiency of internal controls, risk management, and governance frameworks.
- Formulate and implement audit strategies, encompassing risk evaluations, audit methodologies, and testing protocols.
- Analyze financial and operational workflows to pinpoint enhancement opportunities and propose actionable recommendations.
- Draft comprehensive audit reports and communicate findings to senior leadership and the audit committee.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry benchmarks, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee and track the execution of audit recommendations.
- Remain informed about industry developments, best practices, and regulatory updates to maintain the audit function's effectiveness and relevance.
- Mentor and support junior auditors, promoting a culture of ongoing learning and professional growth.
Required Qualifications:
- CPA certification is mandatory.
- At least 5 years of experience in internal auditing, including a minimum of 2 years in a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Demonstrated experience in a large manufacturing organization.
- Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management, and governance principles.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Capacity to work autonomously and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in audit software and data analytics tools.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle.
