About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Support Specialist to join our team at STAR, Inc. in Norwalk, CT.

As a Community Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting adult individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in our day program setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to individuals participating in community activities, such as art classes, cooking classes, and sporting activities.
  • Assist with feeding and personal needs of participants when needed.
  • Drive a company vehicle with assigned participants to and from activities and private family homes for pick-ups or drop offs.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license and eligibility for a Public Passenger Endorsement.
  • Compassion and ability to see the potential in everyone.
  • Positivity and a team-player attitude.
Work Schedule

Monday-Friday: 35 hours/week (Paid lunch while supervising participants).
