Job Summary

Nuvance Health is seeking an Electrophysiology Nurse Practitioner to join its established and growing cardiology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing electrophysiology clinical services and support, including assessment and monitoring of patients with Cardiovascular Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs) such as pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and record physical examinations on inpatient and outpatient cardiology patients, as directed by physicians, and develop diagnoses and plans of care, ordering necessary testing, diagnostics, and medications.
  • Manage ordered tests, including providing patient results, ordering additional testing, and returning patient messages.
  • Monitor devices, including interrogation, management, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with device implantation, including pre-op assessments, management of issues, completing admissions, inpatient care, and discharges.
  • Daily monitoring and management of remote websites and investigation/triage of transmissions.
  • Evaluate urgent CIED patients.
  • Train RNs, technicians, and NPs on the basics of electrophysiology and the function, monitoring, and assessment of patients with electrophysiological abnormalities, with a focus on the evaluation, management, and reprogramming of CIEDs.
  • Perform Tilt Table Testing according to defined protocol.
  • Develop and implement device clinical protocols.
  • Contribute to clinical research planning and execution.
  • Travel to multiple Heart Center locations.

Requirements

  • NYS License and Board Certification.
  • Cardiology experience preferred, but willingness to train the right candidate.
