Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Inspector to join our team at American Consolidated Natural Resources, Inc. as part of our coal mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, advising management on hazards, and conducting mine inspections and accident investigations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Create and maintain effective safety programs to prevent accidents and injuries in the coal mining operations.
  • Conduct Mine Inspections and Investigations: Conduct regular mine inspections and investigations to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Management: Work closely with management to advise on hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Provide Training and Support: Provide training and support to employees on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain Records and Reports: Maintain accurate records and reports on safety incidents, inspections, and investigations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of related experience in mine operations, electrical or safety experience, preferred. Associates Degree in Industrial Health and Safety, preferred.
  • Certifications and Training: May require MSHA Instructor, Underground Mine Foreman, Fireboss, First-Aid, Dust and Noise Sampling Certification.
  • Skills and Abilities: Effective verbal communication skills, detail-oriented, basic computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently.
Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule: Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as schedule requires. Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead, ability to push/pull as needed, standing, bending, step climbing, crawling, and working overhead. Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as needed.
