Position Overview:
The Licensed Animal Care Technician plays a crucial role in our veterinary practice, assisting veterinarians in delivering top-notch medical care. This position requires a compassionate individual who is eager to support both our team and our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist veterinarians in the examination, treatment, and monitoring of animals.
2. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
3. Monitor vital signs and collect samples for laboratory testing.
4. Prepare and analyze laboratory samples, including blood and urine.
5. Set up surgical areas and prepare patients for procedures.
6. Educate pet owners on wellness plans, nutrition, and preventive care.
7. Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
8. Ensure the proper functioning of hospital equipment.
9. Manage inventory and restock supplies as needed.
10. Contribute to the overall efficiency of the clinic.
Customer Service Excellence:
Delivering outstanding service is a priority. You will be expected to:
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Adapt to the unique needs of each client.
- Address and resolve client concerns professionally.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree is a plus.
- Valid certification, registration, or licensing (CVT, RVT, or LVT) is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a veterinary setting.
Work Environment:
This position is performed onsite in a veterinary hospital. The environment may include:
- Limited space and exposure to various odors.
- Potential for noise and other distractions.
- Physical demands, including the ability to lift over 50 pounds.
