About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Family Medicine Hospitalist to join our Psychiatry Service team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to adult and adolescent patients admitted to our inpatient psychiatric unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough medical evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for patients admitted to our inpatient psychiatric unit.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and nursing teams to ensure the medical stability and overall well-being of patients.
  • Manage common internal medicine conditions in psychiatric inpatients, including hypertension, diabetes, infections, and withdrawal syndromes.
  • Provide medical consultation for psychiatric emergencies, including metabolic, cardiac, and neurologic complications.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging, coordinating follow-up care as needed.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in New York.
  • Experience or interest in consult-liaison psychiatry, addiction medicine, or medical management in psychiatric settings preferred.
