JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness in resident rooms and various facility areas, both indoors and outdoors, under the guidance of the Housekeeping Supervisor. Play a vital role in ensuring a pleasant physical and emotional environment for residents.

Minimum Qualifications:
Previous experience relevant to the role is essential.

Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions is required.

Must demonstrate a positive attitude towards residents and families, and work collaboratively with colleagues.
Regular attendance is mandatory.
Compliance with local health regulations is necessary, including passing a post-employment physical examination if required. This includes drug screening, background checks, and reference verification.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Cleaning Duties: Perform cleaning tasks (vacuuming, mopping, dusting, etc.) in resident rooms, offices, and common areas; ensure that residents' spaces are safe, comfortable, and visually appealing while safeguarding personal belongings.
  • Spill Management: Address spills and maintain cleanliness as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols regarding cleaning agents and hazardous materials; ensure proper storage of equipment and supplies.
  • Infection Control: Follow universal precautions and infection control measures, promptly reporting any hazardous conditions.

Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Document incidents and accidents.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and coordinate with other departments for daily housekeeping services.
  • Maintain equipment and supply carts, ensuring adequate supplies are available.
  • Check that lighting is functional and assist with lifting tasks as needed.

Floor Care:
Perform floor maintenance tasks such as stripping, waxing, and buffing as directed; rearrange furniture and clean outdoor areas as required.

Safety Regulations:
Comply with all safety policies and regulations related to fire and life safety, as well as employee and resident safety.

Residents' Rights and Relationships:
Understand and promote all regulations concerning residents' rights, fostering positive interactions with residents, visitors, and regulatory bodies while maintaining a professional appearance.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:
This role is physically demanding and requires:
  • Frequent walking, standing, reaching, bending, and lifting.
  • The ability to maintain a rapid pace throughout the shift.
  • Regular lifting or moving of objects weighing up to 40 pounds, with the ability to handle heavier items.
  • Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders.
  • Dexterity to operate equipment and perform necessary tasks.

Communication Skills:
Proficiency in English is required, including the ability to read, write, and follow instructions, as well as communicate effectively with residents and staff.

Other Responsibilities:
Adhere to the Code of Conduct and Business Ethics policy, including documentation and reporting duties. Participate in quality improvement initiatives as assigned and perform other duties as necessary.

This position may require long hours and weekend shifts, as it is within a healthcare facility that operates 24/7, including holidays and inclement weather.
