Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled Vascular Sonographer to join our team in Oak Forest, Illinois. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing a comprehensive array of sophisticated abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations, demonstrating technical expertise and attention to detail.
- Accurately recognize and document critical findings, such as deep vein thrombosis, ectopic pregnancy, and aortic aneurysms or dissection.
- Assist physicians during procedures, such as amniocentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies, and cath lab procedures.
- Provide preliminary results and communicate with physicians, nursing units, and Emergency Department as needed.
- Participate in the department's QA program and accreditation process, ensuring compliance with established protocols and standards.
- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
- Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 3 months.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- Associates degree in Allied Health or Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health Science.
- 1 year experience in Abdomen and OB/GYN, and 1 year experience in Vascular exams.
