At Centria Autism, we are dedicated to providing high-quality services to children with autism and their families. We are currently seeking a passionate and compassionate Behavior Intervention Specialist to join our team.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with autism. As a Behavior Intervention Specialist, you will work one-on-one with children, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Your primary responsibility will be to use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors.

We are looking for candidates who are patient, understanding, and able to work well in a team environment. If you have a passion for helping children with autism reach their full potential, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Comprehensive training will be provided so that you are equipped and empowered to help each child, even if you don't currently have experience.

A key aspect of this role is the ability to work with children who can be unpredictable and potentially confrontational. While physical demands can be challenging, regular exercise opportunities will ensure you stay active and energized throughout your day. Part of the job involves standing, walking, sitting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, lifting, and at times carrying children or objects that weigh up to 50 pounds.

The estimated salary for this position is between $18.50 - $22.00 per hour, based on experience, certification level, and highest level of education. This pay range reflects the expected compensation package, taking into account industry standards and regional averages.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team
  • Age 18+ years
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain a CPR, First Aid Certification and Tuberculosis test (if you haven't had one in the last year)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Ability to move in various positions (sit, stand, bend, etc.)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
