About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at Universal Health Services. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in the development and implementation of patients' treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patients' treatment plans, working closely with the treatment team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide close supervision and care to facility patients, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Document behavior and develop positive relationships with patients, fostering a supportive and therapeutic environment.
  • Implement treatment plans and provide crisis intervention as necessary, utilizing your expertise to de-escalate situations and promote patient stability.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to work, mealtime, outdoor/indoor recreation, and education activities, promoting socialization and engagement.
  • Transport patients to and from medical appointments or other activities as directed, ensuring timely and safe transportation.
  • Maintain safety and security of the facility through close observation and monitoring of patients, identifying potential risks and taking proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Act as a role model in using appropriate counseling skills, providing guidance and support to patients and colleagues alike.
  • Assess and ensure the needs of patients are being met in relation to clothing, linens, and personal hygiene supplies, promoting dignity and respect.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required, with a strong foundation in behavioral health principles and practices.
  • Must be 21+ years of age, with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience of 1+ year in behavioral health preferred, with a proven track record of success in patient care and treatment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Proven ability to successfully perform in a fast-paced work environment, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
