  • Available Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assess Medication Orders: Review physician medication requests for suitability concerning patient conditions, organ functionality, disease states, and concurrent therapies to ensure optimal health outcomes.
  • Order Processing: Manage physician orders which include data entry into the dispensing system, selecting appropriate products, compounding, labeling, and repackaging while maintaining accurate records. Delegate preparation tasks to pharmacy technicians as permitted by legal and institutional guidelines.
  • Consultation: Provide insights and guidance to various healthcare professionals, including medical and nursing staff, regarding pharmaceuticals and their correct usage.
  • Medication Availability: Ensure timely access to medications for patients to prevent delays in treatment and enhance positive health results.
  • Patient Interaction: Engage with patients who are ill, injured, or disabled to ascertain allergy information, medication history, adherence to medication regimens, and overall health status, while educating them about their treatments as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Adaptability in scheduling to fulfill departmental requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacokinetics, drug literature, adverse drug reactions, drug interactions, therapeutics, computer systems, aseptic techniques, and medical terminology.
Education and Certifications
  • Graduation from a pharmacy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) with at least a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Maintain active licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Ohio.
Experience
  • Prior experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
